Before you start

An MCP capable client and your Kuration API key.

MCP is the protocol that lets an AI client call real tools. Connecting Kuration through it means Claude can source, enrich, score and export against your actual workspace, with your actual credits, rather than describing what it would do.

Get your API key
The MCP server authenticates with the same key as the platform. There is no separate MCP credential to create.

Add the server to your client
Every MCP client has a place to register a server. The exact configuration for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and the others is kept current on the Kuration MCP page, which is the one place to copy it from rather than from a lesson that could go stale.

Restart the client
Most clients read their server configuration at startup. If the tools do not appear, this is the first thing to try.

Verify the tools are actually there
Do not assume the connection worked because it did not error. Ask the client to list the Kuration tools available to it. If you get a list back, you are connected. If you get an apology, you are not.

Confirm it can see your workspace
Ask for your credit balance or your list of projects. A read only call that returns your real data proves the key is right and the workspace is the one you meant.

Tools do not appear after configuring

What you see: The client says it has no Kuration tools
The fix: Restart the client. Configuration is usually read at startup.

Connected to the wrong workspace

What you see: Projects you do not recognise
The fix: Check which key you used. The key determines the workspace.

Assumed a silent connection worked

What you see: The agent describes what it would do instead of doing it
The fix: Ask it to list the tools. Describing rather than doing is the signature of a client with no tools attached.
